What is Muscle Soreness?
*Post exercise soreness is probably not caused by inflammation at all ….but rather by something else that the inflammatory process itself seems to prevent
*Muscle soreness decreases as inflammation escalates , this indicates that soreness is unlikely to be caused by inflammation.
*RBE or Repeated Bout Effect is the skeletal muscle’s way of reducing further exercise- induced damage brought on by subsequent bursts of exercise . It is not clearly understood but appears to be :an attenuated inflammation response triggered by multiple muscle contractions
*ie the muscle ‘seems to remember ‘ the stress of the first workout and so responds with increased immune cell recruitment when the exercise stress is repeated
